Rendering video

Hi folks,

I'm new here and this is my first post, warm wishes to you all!

I've just started using Sony Movie Studio Platinum 12, and I've edited a video in this software... however, when I go to render the video and play it back once rendered the video and sound are out of sync (and often missing)... I've tried converting to AVI, MP4 and WMV but still stuck. I've also tried using the 'Use Project Settings' option as well.

The original, un-rendered video info is as follows:

Video: 29.970 fps progressive, 640x480x12, AVC, .mp4, Sony AVC
Audio: 44,100 Hz, Stereo, AAC

What's the best option for rendering? Any help would be much appreciated! Let me know if you need any more info.

Something is not correct in your original video. Sony AVC is high definition 1080i not 640. I use Sony Movie Studio Platinum 12 with 1080i files and get absolutely brilliant and clear and sharp videos after rendering. If you are using 640 then up scaling to 1080 then it will be degraded.

Give us your camera specs please.

Sony avc can export any size, not sure if that was a problem in question here

first that comes to mind is to match project audio properties settings with clip properties (Sample Rate, Hz) , if that's going to help in any way ...

Well he said that the original vid was 640 so I suspect he tried to render at a higher resolution which he could do but he wasn't happy with the outcome. But that is what causes the bad outcome.

I don't think that 640x480 is making the bad outcome and 640x480 is a square pixel frame size for Full Screen video very much used in DVD rips in DivX or H264

Gosh, this is all very new to me. Ok, so the original recording details are as follows:




I then selected 'Project' > 'Render As' > and rendered as various formats, such as MP4, WMV, AVI in Sony Movie Studio. (I think I may have 'upscaled' the conversion as you guys said??)

How would I select the best Rendering option with the original video spec mentioned above?
