  1. Hello everyone...Hope you all are doing okay and I wish you all a happy holiday season.

I have a problem that has confused me and i cant for the life of me figure it out. I hope I can describe it correctly so you guys can help me out.

I have a dvd that someone sent me that will not play on my dvd players or my xbox. When I try to view it on my computer the windows pops up like usual asking me what I want windows to do with it. I select the program i want to play it in and the program opens up like usual but isn't able to play the dvd. I get a message can't find dvd directory.

When i try to open it with shrink it won't open and i get invalid dvd structor message..When i try to rip it with dvd fab it doesn't even recognize there is a disc in the drive. Decryptor will read it as a iso but that about as far as i can get with it.

Now if i put the disc in my drive and go directly to the drive and open the vob files on the disc they all play in windows media player but i got to select them 1 by 1 to get them to play.

It seems the disc was made from imageburn.

I don't know a whole lot about technical stuff when it comes to bad disc so hopefully you guys can help me find a way to reuthor this disc and get it to work..This is important to me that i get this to work..

  2. You haven't said if there's a menu or chapters you want. But you did say the VOBs play in software. So, if you want a working DVD that'll play in any DVD player:

    1. Open all the VOBs in DGIndex and then File->Save Project and Demux Video. That'll give you an M2V video file of the complete video, an audio file (AC3 or WAV or MP2, maybe), and a D2V project file you can delete.
    2. Open Muxman and load the M2V. Load the audio. Give it a destination folder and 'Start' (answering 'Yes' to the question about it creating the VIDEO_TS folder). That'll give you a DVD inside of a VIDEO_TS folder ready to burn using ImgBurn.

Okay i did step one and that seem to work but step two is not working for me.When i try to load the file in Muxman the program keeps freezing. Could be it that i downloaded a old version of the program maybe ? The version I downloaded is 0.16.8

  5. It freezes when you load the M2V? Is there anything in the log about it? It's found in the root of the 'C' Drive. Yes, you have the most recent version. Although, as a DVD authoring program it's inferior to Muxman, IFOEdit is also less strict about what it'll accept as input, so you might try reauthoring in IFOEdit. Open IFOEdit, and in the top center go DVD Author->Author New DVD. In the new screen load the video and audio, and then give it a destination and hit 'OK'.

Yea it will freeze everytime i try to load M2V or the audio file. It doesn't give me no message. I'll try IFO edit and see what that does.

Wrong place. Load the video in 'Video' and the audio in 'Audio'. Both are for that first title so there's no 'Add Title' to be done.

    Glad you got it solved.

So it's a collection of educational videos.....burned to a DVD as data(not DVD Video) I assume. ImgBurn also does that very well.

Okay just took another look at the IFOedit software and I see now how it works now..I was thinking that add title was to load the files at first but that's just to give it a name...Thanks again..I'll keep these programs for incase i need them again.
