    hi,
i used vegas Studio 10 to edit my Sony SR1 filmed sources 50i 1440x1080. Now I want to render a high quality output file (mkv or such) to play on my pch A400 - whatever I chose I either get a jerking video - especially in scenes with quick motion or blurry motion.

anyone knows what I so wrong or can suggest a good Video output Format?

  2. Have you tried just smart exporting the same kind of hdv stream you're importing? No quality loss. Popcorn hour appears to handle many kinds of mpeg2 streams.

edit: Oops, that's an AVCHD camera, mistook it for a different model. Still, try an HDV export and see if it works.

right! I tried to stay as close to the original stream as possible. Shall I try to turn off deinterlacing and leave it to the popcorn hour? Two years ago I know I did this with a avc stream but I can't remember how...

    That's wise.

I would turn it off. Deinterlacing is a major change to the structure of the image.

In this type of situation, I often take a short segment, 20 seconds or so, and try a variety of different export settings, put them on a thumbdrive and play them one after the other to see what works best. Tweak and repeat.

that is what I was doing all morning... With minor success I'll try some mpeg2 variations now...

  7. It looks like that player is a bad cookie http://www.amazon.com/Popcorn-Hour-A-400-Network-Jukebox/product-reviews/B009VB27KA/re...owViewpoints=1 , their previous players seemed to have better firmware, so you might even do things right, there might be stuttering at the end anyway

or at least make sure you have latest fw

    thanks! I found a solution...
if I go to the player's video setting and switch it from AUTO to 1920x1080@50i - it runs super smooth... So maybe I need to look into my mixing settings as I join the video and audio to an mkv file...
