I ripped the VIDEO_TS folder from one mf my DVDs... I want to re-burn it without one of the chapters. I'm think I can just rebuild the DVD with Sizzle, but what can I use to extract the chapters to seperate files? I can't use Os Ex because it only extracts from a disc and all I have at the moment are the files on the hard drive.

instead of ripping to VIDEO_TS you should have ripped to .vob so that you could have had OSeX pull the .vob's before and after your chapter you want to exclude.
then you just demux these .vob's and run the .m2v and .ac3 though sizzle (given the understanding that you probably have to dvd2one it first otherwise it wil be too large)

Since all you have is the VTS folder, drag it onto Toast in DVD mode and make a Disc image out of it. Then mount the image and follow galacticas advice above.

    Easy? Yes. Time consuming? Yes.

But you'll get the results you want.

  5. Cinematize is a excellent app for it but also Extractor does the job good and faster http://denisx.dyndns.org/extractor/downloads/

  6. It seems like Extractor doesn't do any AC-3 decoding. Does it handle multi-angle DVDs properly? As far as I can tell it's just a combination decrypt and demux program. I don't think it handles extracting separate chapters, which is what Jeffersonian is asking for. Cinematize seems like the better app for what he wants.

I know how to extract chapter.txt from a BD or more precisely from a MPLS file.
But from a .ts file? how can I extract chapters?
    What soft should I use?
or better, what script is required?

    Thx!

  8. if the .ts file contains chapter informations MediaInfo should show them and converting the MediaInfo output to some chapter format shouldn't be hard.

Unfortunatelly, .ts file do not contain chapters info as per MediaInfo...

  10. Then there probably is no chapter info in it to extract.

Yes, possible, though being a musical classical opera, that must have chapters....

  12. If there isn't some chapter info in it, the only way to generate chapter infos I can think of is analysing the video and/or audio and try to think of some characteristic which allows to pin-point where a chapter might be. (probably doable, but not an easy task)
There might also be an additional teletext stream or something similar which contains some chapter infos,...
