  1. Hey everyone. I'm new to this forum but hopefully some of you could give me a solution to my problem. I just finished shooting some video today with my hauppauge HD PVR which was capturing footage from my XBox 360. The output file was an MP4. Somewhere down the line one of my files got corrupt and no longer plays or goes through any conversion software. Here's what I've tried so far:-Grau GmbH, which gave me somewhat of a solution. The video came out with good audio but extremely choppy video that barely played. (if anyone knows any settings I could update to fix that, that would be great!)
-I am currently in the process of uploading the corrupt file to youtube in hopes that I can download it out from my uploads...someone had suggested it on another forum and I thought I'd give it a try.

If anyone has any solutions or thoughts of what I could try that'd be great. I need to have this video edited for Wednesday and I'd really like to start putting it together in the morning.

    Thanks!

  2. Open the MP4 with MKVMergeGUI. Use the Start Muxing button to resave it as an MKV. MKVMergeGUI should report any problems it finds. Generally though, if a file is corrupt it's corrupt and there's no magic method to retrieve it all in perfect condition. Probably the best you can hope for is a usable version which at least contains the uncorrupted parts.

Just tried this and I got an error message "...does not contain any tracks" when I tried to input the file into the program. I feel as thought there's still a glimmer of hope because when I tried it with Grau I managed to get clear audio but video was so choppy to the point where it was unusable...I still feel like somewhere out there it's possible
