Is the Panasonic Lumix GH2 still the budget king of the hill for 1080p?

I hear that the GH2 can resolve 900 lines and is an incredible camera for video even stock compared to Hacked. When hacked it can do like 100Mbps AVCHD video.

Is it really true that the GH2 does 900 lines of resolution? I want to know just how good this camera really is because I currently have a T3i/600D and in comparisons the GH2 is awesome even up against the 5dMkII ...

it is an awesome camera, my son uses one at uni where he studies film and television, but you have to know how to use it to get the best from it.

there are hacks, and there are hacks, lots of them, very confusing to say the least.

i use a panasonic AG-AC90 dedicated camera that shoots 1080/50p avchd (im in australia) but i also use a Ninja 2 recording box/screen which connects to my camera via hdmi, and it disables the camera compression and takes the image from the sensor into the ninja 2 device and records it in 1080/25p ProRes HQ @ 220Mbps onto a removable 1tb laptop hdd inside the ninja.

its a great device, but i only wish it could record in 1080/50p like avchd does, im not a fan of 25p video, but it suits my son because he shoots his work in manual mode at 24p and 25p.

it also acts as a bigger preview screen as well, and additional battery power for the camera.
