Hello I am new here please bare with me...I have a .MKV video that is 13.2 GB but when I use BDtoAVCHD v.1.9.2 to convert to BD23 the file size ends up being 23.8 GB (25,588,735,768 bytes) which won't fit on a BD25 since it only has 22.5 GB usable space so it wont all fit on the disc, (using ImgBurn). The movie does play in my Blu-ray Player and makes it almost to end, so most of the movie is there, less the credits.
I can live with out the credits but does anyone know how to reduce the settings? (I tried the custom media settings to no avail).
Or is it just a glitch in the program?

I can't say I've ever used the program but I'm wondering if you are using passthrough audio perhaps?
IF you keep the original audio that will eat up a lot of space. See whatever choices it has for reducing it (ie reencoding - don't worry audio encoding is loads faster than video reencoding, when done separately that is, but still won't add a huge amount of time to the conversion). Fyi ac3 at 640kpbs still sounds great even if its not lossless anymore.Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw? -

Yep will probably have to sacrifice the audio track will see how bd rebuilder works it also has a custom target size setting as does BDtoAVCHD will know in a few hours if the BDrebuilder can make it fit.
I could use the dual layer BD50 but they are more expensive than the BD25-RE and If I mess it up it becomes a really expensive coaster and if I go for the BD50-RE whoa $$.
So a lot more trial and error still ahead thank you for your help. -

You can use ripbot264 and you can keep your original audio and just make it any size you want. Copy to a harddrive and playback. No fuss no muss.
And you can tailor it to your particular hardware player if it has certain quirks to it - ie number of reference frames, etc.
Something to think about. And a few tb harddrives would store a lot more than single layer br discs....Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw? -
Just a note, since your source is an mkv you'll need to use file-import in BDrebuilder. Since your burning on a BD25 try HighSpeed BD25 mode it's much faster than the 2-pass mode.

Success great PQ and even kept the DTS 7.1 audio tracks and it fit on the BD25!
Thank you for recommending BDrebuilder this works beautifully. -
