Hello everybody,
I came across this forum and signed up with the hopes that somebody could direct me in the right path and tell me if there are any good home based 'courses' that they may have used or are currently using in order to satisfy general curiosity?I'm at the point right now where I would just like to get a relatively good idea as to what it takes to make a movie from start to finish and the kind of equipment and knowledge a beginner would find valuable as I have no idea what I'm doing with it just yet.Are there any DVD libraries I might be able to buy that offers some good general knowledge?I saw the tutorials and I'm reading through them immediately after I get done with this tutorial but I've always learned better visually or hands on.Just for some FYI on what I currently know if you're curious I'm the guy who was watching one of his favorite movies and was wondering what happens behind the scenes,of course I've watched countless documentaries but I don't think those were intended to teach anybody much of anything...lol.Any suggestions would be a great help at this point, thanks in advance.

There are libraries dedicated to this subject, multi-year college cirricula, and lifetimes of practical knowledge. Any information given here could only be a starting point.

Thanks for the follow through! I was a little worried my response came off slightly rude but I just wanted to be a little more clear about the kind of content I was looking for.I just don't want to spend a bunch of time working on a script and getting a certain thought in my head about making a film that is wrong then realize that I won't like it for that reason.I like to learn as much as possible so I won't be just sort of throwing darts in the dark, know what I mean?

It did. But don't sweat it this time.
Not to be too Yoda-ish, but this journey will inevitably include many missteps. The good news is, at this stage if you make a mistake you learn two things instead of the one you would have learned had you done it correctly. You might even stumble on something original.
