I know this is an odd request, but I have some Concert DVDs of mine that I would like to backup to Blu-ray. The reason being is that most of them are around 7.5 Gigs which WOULD fit nicely on DL DVDs, BUT... I want to get away from those since BDs have come down about half in price, they are the same as DVD-DL and FAR more practical for backing up a LOT more stuff.

I've got these ISO's & VIDEO_TS folders with the concerts, but when I simply tried to burn the ISO to a Blu-ray instead of a DVD and then play it on my OPPO BDP-83, it showed as a DATA disc, which then allowed me to navigate to the VOB files and play them within the VIDEO_TS folder, but would NOT just play the disc as a playable 'DVD' as it would if I had burned it to an actual DVD-DL.

So, I need a way to convert / burn the DVD VIDEO_TS folders to actual BDMV folders so that my OPPO will see it as an actual Blu-ray and play it properly. Weird, I know... BDRB has a newer feature where you can import a number of DVD folders from a parent folder and then it creates a Blu-ray structure. But, unfortunately for some odd reason not all of the Audio carries over in the conversion. I GUESS I can try Multi-AVCHD, but I don't THINK it allows you to import more than one DVD at a time, I'm not sure. And these are both PAL and NTSC, so I KNOW that program will NOT mix them.

There MUST be some simple way just to convert the DVD VIDEO_TS folder to a playable BDMV folder; I tried dropping the DVD folder into TSMuxer, but no go...

I KNOW I"m missing something simple here, so if anyone could please suggest what I can use that would be great!

    Thanks!!!

One alternative method would be to use avstodvd to join all dvds to one HUGE and then use dvdtobd express, see https://forum.videohelp.com/threads/352413-Can-a-video-Blu-Ray-be-created-with-lots-of-...=1#post2263744

    You could also try BD_RB.

It should carry all sound over. Don't forget that there are hidden options for the audio.

Just a question, as I haven't tried it, but if you import dvds of PAL and NTSC format into AVStoDVD, won't it re-encode to fit whichever type is the default? You have to set AVStoDVD to produce PAL or NTSC, but there is no setting I know of where it will produce a dvd with both.

Well, I know that with MultiAVCHD you cannot mix both types on the same compilation, but I don't know with this one, sorry...

Also, to above about BDRB hidden settings: That is a good idea; I DO have the HD and other audio selected to save in the general 'Settings' menu, but I'm not too conversant with the hidden settings. Thanks for the suggestion, I'll check it out.

    Cheers!

The setting is KEEP_HD_LPCM=1. It might affect DVD PCM tracks.
