Help wanted playing 3D movie.

Hello there.


So I've had two films sitting on a shelf that contain blu-ray 3D versions along with 2D versions, on separate discs. I've watched the 2D discs and I've finally decided to watch them in 3D. Problem is I can't see to get them to work. I've got a 3D monitor and a separate Blu-ray drive, but still noting; naturally I feel dumb at trying to get it to work.


At first I, forgive my ignorance, tried to get it to work with normal 2D players such as Media Player Classic or Windows Media Player. Naturally it didn't work as the file couldn't be rendered, so I searched for a program that COULD play the movie. I came across a program called Arcsoft Total Media centre (or something), but after installing the program I tried to open it and it showed a small window as if the program were loading but then dissapeared and nothing would happen. Same thing happened 4 or 5 times. I then got Movavi Media Player which does open up. Still I can't get the movie to work. I've tried to 'Open DVD' & 'Open 3D Video', but still can't get the movie to play. I try to go to where the blu-ray drive has set itself (F: drive) with the DVD, I select it and there are 3 folders. When I try to select something (through the program) I enter the folders and there are no files that seem to be the movie. There is however a folder that contains many video files of differing sizes, but the Movavi Media Player can't play a single one of them.


I've come to the forum in the hopes you can aid me. My issue may seem like a tiny and/or common one, but I've been feeling dumb for about an hour now, trying to get this DVD to work. What am I missing, is the program I installed a bunch of c***? Is there something else in particular I need?


I would really love and appreciate if you could recommend some program that makes it really easy to watch a 3D movie from a DVD, the player I have might only like to play 3D movies direct from a video file :/


Can anyone help? Any other info you'd like for me to provide?

I don't know if it has to but is your computer bluray drive a "3d" bluray drive? I'm not sure if a computer bluray drive has to be a "3d" drive like a settop model does. I don't know if its only software driven if you have a 3d monitor connected to your computer.

Also you should mention the make and model of this 3d monitor so others can chip in with more advice.

All BD drives are the same WRT physical specs & laser reading capability, etc. Also, file system is UDF 2.60 on all. So it is only the "application" that is different, and so it is only the player software that needs to be changed. NOT the drive. This of course assumes that your already includes a 3d-compatible video card and a 3d-compatible display. You mentioned having a 3d monitor (though no which model), but not what vidcard. Maybe that is the problem. If it isn't, you really should pursue just what was up with the Arcsoft TMT being difficult. Maybe it was an old version that didn't support 3d, maybe you have a driver or codec conflict, etc. But those things should be solved first.
Don't know about the 3d capabilities of Movavi. I would actually be surprised to find that it DOES support 3dbd. I KNOW v 3 and v5 of TMT does.
