  1. Dear All,
I have a philips BDP 2930/98 and it has cinavia protection on it
    its firmware is 2.36.
Does anyone know have a firmware of an earlier date without cinavia protection?
or anyway to remove the cinavia on this player?

The only way to remove Cinavia is to downgrade your firmware. I do not know if that is even possible on your player. On some players it is not possible.

I'd like to point out that legally purchased discs with Cinavia will play fine so it's not like you have no way to deal with this situation, but I suppose you're not going to like me pointing that out.

Geez, are you trying to set a record between when you joined and when you made your first post?

hahahah! yeah its been awhile. this forum has always been really useful and have always answered my questions! so there was no need for me to even post. haha.

on your comments thanks a lot. yeah i was hoping for some older firmware i could try to downgrade but i guess there is none?

will just have to buy another one withouth cinavia.
i will use this for my dvds i guess
imagine this....RM(malaysian ringgit) 70 for an original blu ray compared to a cheap 18 for a pirated one.
    thanks a bunch

I truly have no idea if older firmware exists, where you could find it if it does, or if your player will even let you install older firmware (some absolutely will not allow this). Maybe someone else can respond on that.
