It's a microphone! It is SUPPOSED to pickup the sounds around it.
To make those quieter:
1 use a more directional mike, and point it AWAY from the unwanted sound
2 decrease the distance to the wanted source & increase from the unwanted sources
3 change your environment to have more absorption & diffusion, particularly in the direct path between the mike & unwanted noise sources, and make sure that the mike's mounting isn't contributing to the transmission of the unwanted sounds
4 quiet/dampen the unwanted souces noises through covers, cotton stuffing, rubber padding, etc
5 filter the sound (either via analog or digital means) to decrease the backgound noise frequencies, while enhancing the wanted foreground frequencies
6 isolate the mike in a separate space (vocal booth?) and/or overdub & edit
