Is there any way around the DVD copy protection when copying to a VCR cassette?

eh bro.
you need one of two things.
first, check out the dvd players compatibility list to the left. look up your dvd player to see if you can update the firmware with a hacked version to remove macrovision. macrovision is the little bastard in the box that detects if a vcr is connected to the video output. if you can update the firmware to remove macrovision, then you are home free
or
go to best buy or circuit city and purchase a box called "rf modulator" or "video modulator" this will accept a svideo/composite input and output through coax...maybe even comp/svideo if you're lucky. expect to spend 10-30 bucks on this one

Thanks for the reply. I bought the Pioneer DV343
I've seen it sold on some websites with Macrovision disabled but there's no hack on this site.
So this RF modulator will neutralize the Macrovision?
Do you have to twist dials to certain settings or is it plug and play?
Thanks again, for your feedback,
Dave
