CD copy protection

First let me appologize if this should be in audio section as i thought it was just a copy protection issue. I have been trying all day to make a copy of my daughters Hanna Montana CD for the van and with every program I use it fails. So far i tried to copy with Nero (6 I think) and after it failed doing disc to disc i thought i would try and save as an image, no dice as it failed to read also. I then tried cdrwin6 and it saved the image but when i tried to burn it crashed my computer, gave me the blah blah has caused an error and needs to . . . I then tried to save an image with the latest imageburn, it read the disc but when i clicked the box to save location it would not highlight the start button. I then downloaded burnatonce and if i recall it would not even give me the option to save an image, i think it only burns images (i might be wrong but no matter as it would not work). I then fired up my Exact Audio Copy v.95, it also failed to save an image it froze. So i am now trying to do one song at a time (with EAC) and i managed to copy 8 and it has failed on 6, failed on track 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 10.

Anyone ever run into a CD that can't be copied and if so can you pass me some hints on how to copy this? I am going to leave my exact audio copy minimized and take a little nap, i have litterly been working on this for about 4hrs, i am ready to just go buy another copy.

Maybe the disc has errors of some sort?, have you tried ripping the audio files to MP3 just to see if that works?.

ok, just right clicked on one of the tracks that would not copy and selected copy/compressed for mp3 and it froze at 61.3%, i am still using exact audio copy as that is the program i am still in and just have minimized while i surf for answers.

Have you tried running a scan for damaged sectors on the disc?

Maybe that's the answer.

rip it into Media Player and then burn a copy from the library.

ok, i just fired up media player version 10 and it made it to track 4 and got to 17% and just sits there.

DVDinfopro can check your CD for CRC's. It will let you know if the disc is ok.

I recently had a hell of a time ripping the latest Aly & AJ CD. No idea what was wrong with it.

sorry guys, had to take a break yesterday! I will try dvdinfopro and isobuster within the next day or two and get back to you.

My wife yelling at me, why you wasting your time just go buy another one for $15.00, i said, its the principal of the matter i should be able to copy it and if i had 15.00 to buy another Hanna Montana CD i would buy me something new for my computer!

I have had good results using EAC to rip CDs which other programs failed at, it can be worth a try.

OK ladies and gents, fired up dvdinfopro and i had to stop it, it stopped at 19% and started rattling off error after error. Here is a copy of the log just after i stopped it,

As you can see it hit 197 so i stopped it. Midzuki, do you think it would still be worth it to try isobuster? I do appreciate everyones ideas and if anybody has any other idea i am all for it, i am on a MISSION now.

BINGO!.... I was sure it was a bad disc!.
If you exchange it, you shouldn't have problems copying the new one.
I'm pretty sure you will not be able to copy this one if it has so many errors.
