DVD-lab Pro is complaining about Open GOPs. The vid was edited in Premiere Pro, and I'm a bit lost with GOP, not to mention that Premiere uses M and N instead of I, P and B. How do I configure Premiere for closed GOP? Or do I need to process the MPEG output of Premiere?

you can ignore the warning message. open gops are allowed, and will work fine.

aedipuss beat me to this one.

There is probably a good reason for the warning message but I have had no issues with open gops. Angles ?

You probably need a bespoke mpeg encoder to create closed gops.

i think in pp if you choose mpeg2 rather than mpeg2 dvd you can close gops. you'll have to set up a dvd compliant output yourself.

I've usually ignored the warning, but I've noticed that sometimes when DVD-lab shows the warning that the video file then causes DVD-lab to crash. So I was both trying to understand GOP a bit more and wanting to solve the problem of crashes.

Premiere Pro does offer different options when choosing MPEG but it isn't clear to me how to get closed GOP.

in pp's video panel settings there is a spot for closed gops you set to 1 to close all gops.
