I have Ulead MediaStudio Pro 6.0 now. It has some limitations:
1. It cannot render AVI files more than 4GB even on NTFS because it
2. Doesn't support AVI2 (AVI version 2, OpenDML)
3. It comes with Ligos MPEG-1/2 plug-in which doesn't make a good quality MPEGs.
That's why I switch to Vegas Video 3.0 which supports AVI2 and can render AVI file with any size.
And it also comes with very good MPEG-1/2 encoder from MainConcept.
But now Ulead released new MSP 6.5. And it has new features.
So, I have some questions to MSP 6.5 owners before I upgrade to it:
1. Does it support AVI2 (v2, OpenDML) file format so you can capture and render files more than 4GB?
2. What MPEG-1/2 encoder comes with MSP 6.5?
3. How good is the quality?
On Ulead web site it says that you can capture directly to MPEG-2. But the question is,
4. Can you capture directly to MPEG-2 with MSP 6.5 from D8 camcorder using FireWire?
Thanks in advance.

I've got 6.5 and I just rendered a 9.3Gig DV AVI file to an NTFS drive.
MPEGS are still of poor quality (Use TMPGenc)
I think VidioStudio 6.5 is FAR easier to use than VegasVideo.
