  1. hi guys, I am looking for different brands of Video Processors (Analogue color enhancers/stabilizers) like those from Archer (radio shack). I want to buy one but I live in europe and shipping from USA is too expensive. Can you suggest me any other brands that produced analogue Video Processors like those from Archer? thank you

You should check out Karl Klomp's blog. He's in the Netherlands I think. He is a prolific video glitcher. There are a few mentions of equipment from the European market.

I'm guessing the OP is interested in FIXING video errors, not GENERATING them.

Most good ProcAmps I use are tacked onto TBC's, so they're not cheap. But they work well.

  4. Oh, thank you for that Karl Klomp's. I actually happend to see him around but didn't went deepen. I actually am not searching to fix/restore VHS clips; I precisely like to Glitch mess with them (like I noticed many around are doing).
    I actually bought this

    and this one

I am keen to modifying them like Tachyons+ is doing , benting cirquits etc (even if I am not really sure what this means) for having glitching psichedelia from my clips. Here is what gorgeous fx he is achieveing with his mods https://vimeo.com/tachyonsplus/videos
DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA what he is actually messing up? Looks like he connects (see attachment pics) directly the signal entrance with the switches on the front panel.
I really would love to have stills like Rob Sheridan's artwork http://rob-sheridan.com/analog/one.html

circuit bending is about rerouting electricity in new directions in order to extract hidden functions that are misunderstood and overlooked by the ones who actually engineered the circuitry. we can hack into the circuit and customize our signal with a little constructive curiosity. i have hacked into both of those units personally. they are actually a good place to start. from experience they are hard to fry or destroy the components. for instance get two wires, solder a resistor or better yet a potentiometer between them. now flip over the main board to the green side, the side with the solder. stay away from the power structure of the unit. i recommend covering the area where the electricty enters the circuit with electrical tape because it will zap you if your not careful.now run video into the unit and touch the leads from the wires you soldered to the switch or what have you around the various solder points on the board. when you find a good glitch, solder it down. throw a toggle switch in there so you can deactivate the glitch. you really need to leave each one glitching as you look for others though. it seems to me that one glitch leads to another. chain reaction as they say. pm me your email and ill send you some pictures of a few boards i have wired up. this way you have a point of referece to begin from. i believe you will definatley get some dope stills. peace!
