    Hi,

    I'd like to try this:

Take 4 clips and resize them to 1/4 size then place each of the clips in a portion of the screen (like the Brady Bunch).

    Thanks for any hints!

    This is an authoring question...

With VCD/SVCD, you can't do exactly that. You can use pictures or thumbs, but not moving stuff.
With DVD it is possible, but I don't know many authoring programs allowed it.

For VCD/SVCD creation, try vcdimager with a fronter. You can find them on the link page of VCDhelp.
Even Nero can make something like that. Personally, I use nero, but it is not the best way. It creates only basic and simply menus.

For DVD creation, try use Unlead movie studio or Adobe premiere.

  3. Well, you could make a clip that had this feature in Ulead VS6, but it's a pain!

    1. in the overlay , one clip, 50% size, anchor to one corner, save the whole thing as a new Mpg file.

    2. clear main and overlay tracks. Open the file you just made. Open new clip in overlay track, also 50% size, and change anchor position to another corner, and save another clip as a new mpg.

    3. clear main and overlay tracks. Open the file you just made. Open new clip in overlay track, also 50% size, and change anchor position to another corner, and save another clip as a new mpg.

    4. clear main and overlay tracks. Open the file you just made. Open new clip in overlay track, also 50% size, and change anchor position to another corner, and save another clip as a new mpg.

It works, but it's kind of a pain - I'd recommend an editor with many more tracks!
As Churchill famously predicted when Chamberlain returned from Munich proclaiming peace in his time: "You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor, and you will have war."

  4. try 'videomach', it does that

(videomach also reads in 'mpeg' files created by mavicams that make other programms stumble now and again)

    Hi again,

I tried the VideoStudio method and it works fine except that VS6 put a pink tint across the top of each clip.

    I'll try VideoMach later.

My idea was that it would make comparing various filter settings in VirtualDub easier and it did. Don't yet know if it's worth the trouble.

    Thankyou All !
