  1. Okay, I've used smart ripper to remove region and macromedia from a dvd disk. I'm left with 4 *.vob files. How do I write them back to a DVD disk ?

    Cheers

u'll need to get a vob decomplier (divx-digest.com) has some

then decompile the vob into it's componate mpeg streams.

Then feed them into a dvd-authoring program.

  3. Best take a look at the HOW TO guides on the left side of this webpage. The sections you need to look at are DVD RIP, and the DVD to DVD ripping hyperlink.

  4. No no no....no need to use an authoring program to convert, the files are already in perfect VOB format for gods sake!

Once you`ve ripped the VOB files, you need to use IfoEdit to recreate the correct structure in the *.ifo files, then you can simply burn the VIDEO_TS file back onto the DVDr and it will play.

I recomend using PrimoDVD to do this as it checks any VIDEO_TS or AUDIO_TS folders for errors before it burns.

For more info on this see http://doom9.net

    Hope that helps.

  6. Rik,

Soz to trouble you again mate, but...

How do I use INFEDIT ?

Keeps saying "must be in a directory called VIDEO_TS. I've renamed the directory and moved it all over the place. Still the same error.

Any tips or other software ?

    Cheers

  7. This is from memory , but here goes :)

Use Smartripper to rip the .VOBs for just the main movie (if you want to get info on keeping extras and menus etc see http://doom9.net)

You should now have a number of VOB files only, nothing else in the directory, just .VOB.

    Load IFOEdit.

Click the "Create IFOs" button and select the 1st VOB of the movie.
This will create the files you need to run the DVD on a DVD player.

After the new files are created, load in each file and click "Get VTS Sectors", saving anythign it asks you to.

Now make sure all these are in a directory called "VIDEO_TS" and use something liek PowerDVD to test it. Click to load DVD Files from HD and see if it plays.

If so, your ready to burn, like I said I recomend PrimoDVD as it checks the validity of the VIDEO_TS folder.

This has worked for 30+ films for me, just stick it in and the film plays through, even keeping the chapters - of course there are no menu features or anything, but if you NEED these refer to http://doom9.net.

    Hope that helps!
