I saw this freeware program referenced on another thread and downloaded it. The link is www.joern-thiemann.de/tools
The program has a lot of potential to make a slide show output to an avi file for encoding with whatever to make a VCD but I can't get anything to read the avi file. I have used several codecs including Ligos Indeo 5.11 and others but nothing reads it the resulting avi file. Has anyone been successful with this or have a clue on how to make it work? Don't use uncompressed codec as it will go to a 2G file very quickly.![]()
Would be a great alternative to ULEAD if it worked.

I contacted the programmer but he doesn't think anything is wrong with his program. I downloaded the program again and it was a different size but I think he made a small mod. I tried the Ligos Indeo 5.11 at 100% like he suggested and also the divx codec but can't get a readable avi file using TMPG, WMP, or Vdub. Anyone got this to work yet?

I have been using it for a while without any problems. I am converting slideshows to DivX 5 and DV (with Mainconcept DV codec).
Maybe you should check project settings and play around with resolution of the output video. For example, if in project settings the video resolution is 640:480 I can't convert to DV because the DV video only accepts 720:576 resolution video.
