hello
I have been through hell in the past 2 days. I have been all over forums, I have tried probably 10 programs. but I still do not have a solution. I would appreciate some help.
I have a .mov file
I have used subtitler workshop to make time-coded subtitles in English
someone has translated the English to Korean for me, the Korean is in a .doc file
I tried to copy/paste the Korean from the .doc file to the .srt file. At first, when I opened the srt file in notepad, the Korean would not show correctly, it was just a bunch of question marks. but then I went to Language settings and installed Asian languages. now the Korean shows correctly in notepad.
Now, where I am stuck is burning the Korean subtitles to the video. The video is in .mov format. I can convert it to .avi or .mp4, that's not a problem. but I cannot, for the life of me, burn Korean subtitles onto this. I tried many many things, which I dont remember right now. every time, one of 2 things happened: the subtitles don't show at all. or the subtitles are just a bunch of squares.
so I am stuck. Does anyone know how I can do this?
PS the video file is high resolution (1.2gb) and I would like to lose little or no quality.
Ps, I have 2 computers, one with windows 7 and one with xp.

I agree with xvid4psp. I've used it to embed simplified Chinese subs in a video. The only catch is that most likely you will have to get the subs into Unicode format. That works. Non-unicode text may not work. You can open your SRT file in Word or something similar and save it as a UTF-8 (Unicode) text document.

Hi guys
I tried xvid4psp, and it reencoded everything, but the subtitles are all squares and question marks. you can see a screenshot by going here:

the subtitle file that i uploaded is a .srt file and it is encoded in utf-8 format. When I open this in notepad, I can see the Korean. -
Hi everybody.
I think my problem is solved. I posted an ad on a classifieds website asking for help, and paid this guy a fee to do this. He is supposed to deliver in 24 hours.
what software is he using?
adobe after effects!
I am not sure why this software is never discussed here, is it because it's not free?
and I would do this myself, except I don't even know how to use Paint, let alone an adobe product!!
