  1. I recently tried to convert a few films to a format watch able on my Playstation 3 so i downloaded Xvid4PSP, loaded the MKV file selected MP4 PS3 as the output and began encoding, easy right? So now i have this selection of files in my temp folder, i copied them all to a USB stick stuck it in my PS3 and tadaaa, didnt find the files. I've pressed triangle and selected display all so it's not something as simple as that (i wish).

Now this is something i'll be doing a lot of now I'm using my PS3 as my goto BD/DVD/Watch something on a bigger screen than my monitor player, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is your USB FAT32 formatted? In windows explorer right click and choose properties on the usb device to check it.

It wont work with the NTFS file format.

  3. Yeah, it's one that holds a micro SD card as its storage mind if that would make a difference.

...an extra tip. I believe the PS3 can handle a MP4 with AC3 sound. I use XMedia Recode to convert MKV to MP4 for a friend with a Sony TV. I just repack the video and audio into the MP4 container. It takes about 30 seconds(I use v3.0.8.1 as it's faster for this than newer versions).

  5. Yeah, what's the audio and video in that MKV? If you don't know post a MediaInfo text file of it. I don't have to reencode MKV's at all, but just repack them into MPG (MKV2VOB) or M2TS (PS3Muxer) for my Playstation 3. If it's got AVC video and AC3 audio, you don't have to reencode. If it's AAC audio then convert just the audio using MKV2AC3 before running it through one of the other programs.
