    I am fairly new at editing dvd's. Can anyone tell me how to edit out commercials on a backup dvd and what software I should use please? thank you.

    Videoredo, tmpgenc mpeg editor or mpeg video wizard dvd.

    Or free software like dvd shrink(in the reauthoring mode) or mpg2cut2. But they are not as simple as the non free software.

    You will lose menus, extra material(if any). The video will not reconverted so you wont lose any video quality.

    Or do you mean movie previews?

    I was thinking of commercials from a recorded tv show.

    Gypsy5k - You need to tell us if this is what you mean because you do NOT need an editor at all to deal with this. No point in wasting your time and ours with useless suggestions until you clarify what exactly you mean. If this is what you mean then we can give appropriate help at that time.
