  1. Hi, so I've finally got subtitles working when converting to a blu-ray folder. The only problem is that they disappear as soon as the appear on the screen, so they're unreadable. I haven't changed anything aside from using hardcoded subs, but i needed to do that for them to work. If i need to give more information let me know. Thanks in advance

Since your title indicates that you do a mkv->blu-ray conversion:
    1. What format are your subtitles in?
    2. Is your source constant or variable frame rate?
    3. How do you hardcode the subtitles? (tool, settings?)

  3. 1. Subtitles are embedded in the MKV, there is no subtitle file. Not sure if there's a way to find the format otherwise.

    2. Source is constant frame rate

    3. The only setting I'm using for hard-encoding subs is under Media > Properties > Transcode > Then the drop down on the bottom left to Hard Encode First Subtitle track

  4. regarding 1.: MediaInfo should give some infos about the subtitle format
regarding 3.: you still haven't written down the name of the program you used

-> Wild guess: It might help to extract the subtitle stream with mkvextract (GUI) and then convert it to PGS (= subtitle format that is normally used for Blu-Ray). Changes are good, that the tool you try to create the Blu-ray with does support PGS.

  5. than it's probably a problem with tsMuxeR converting the subtitles.
-> it will probably help to extract the subtitles and convert them with another tool.

  6. I download mkvtool so I'll try that. What should i use to convert to pgs?

  7. easySUP/goSUP (https://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=149160) should be able to do the job

  8. So the subtitle format I extracted from the MKV is in MKS which doesn't seem to be supported by GoSup. Any thoughts?

  9. seems like you didn't extract the subtitles properly using mkvextract, but you used mkvmerge to only but the subtitles into an mkv container.
(.mks is the extension that is used for an mkv container that only contains a subtitle stream)
