Hi all I'm a newbie, but willing to learn!!
I've just ripped my first DVD using clad, got all the .vob files and started to encode with dvd2avi. Everything ok so far...I thought. When I now preview the avi, the film runs ok, gets to the end of the credits and then the second half of the film starts playing again, and finishes in the middle of a scene.This is making my file size massive, the film length shows as 2hours 23 mins and 22 secs, but when I preview the film, the credits finish at 1hour 31 mins. Its the bit at the end thats increasing the film length. This is making it bloody awkward to decide where to cut it in TMPGEnc and what bitrate to use to decide the file size. I hope I've explained this ok, sorry if its muddled, but any help greatly appreciated.Its driving me nuts!!
Cheers Raider

u're using dvd2avi to encode??...u're suppose to use tempgenc, cce, etc... to encode...dvd2avi is mainly to extract the audio file from the ripped vobs

If I understand you're question correctly than you might have the vob files in the wrong order or maybe have too many. Pick just the movie vobs when you goto 'open' in dvd2avi. Play around with the vobs until the movie is right and then save project.

I'm not too familiar with clad but I know smartripper will select only the movie and put the vob's in the right order.

@ dancoe,
I've tried clad and smartripper m8, and got the same result with both??
@Shifthrow, thanx m8, I'll give that a go.
@Poopyhead, I'm making a divx file m8, I thought u had 2 do this to get your .avi file and .wav file....then I run them in virtualdub. If there is another way m8, I'd appreciate it.
Thanx Raider.
