    In a short period of time I'll buy a Sony DVD (no alternatives since my entire A/V is in Sony). I'm just wondering if anyone KNOWS which of the "older" Sony DVD's (325, 525, 725 etc.) plays SVCD's?

    My A/V setup is all Sony as well except for an Apex 703. The Apex 703 form factor looks like a Sony clone and fits in really well.

    I bought a Sony DVP525D and it did'nt play SVCD on any CDR or CD-RW media... infact it never played any CD-R, only CD-RW... I had it for a couple of Months then I sold it, I needed something that would play everything so now I'ma happy owner of a Samsung 611...very good, plays everyting including mp3 disks! I would say that Sony sucked bigtime!
