  1. Hello everybody.

I'm converting digital free TV recordings using Handbrake, from MPEG-2 to MP4 (H.264) and decreasing the frame size from 720x576 to 320x256, using the "Anamorphic: Loose" option and just setting the width to 320 pixels (Handbrake decides the height proportionally).

The problem is that I often have recordings with more than one movie/TV series, and when I watch the original MPEG-2 file, my player (VLC or PotPlayer) correctly changes the visual proportions of the pictures according to the pixel aspect ratios that change usually when the movie or the TV series episodes change (let's call each of them a "block" of the total recording).

The problem is that when I open the entire recording in Handbrake, only the first aspect ratio occurrence is taken, so, when I convert (separately) every "block" of the registration I have to manually enter the changed aspect ratio for each "block" (often trying to guess it), because the first one that Handbrake took is not the right on e for all of the "blocks" in the recording.

Is there a way to tell Handbrake to keep every pixel aspect ratios that it detects during the conversion process, when it decodes the original file to encode it in the new format?

Thanks a lot for your time and help

I don't think that is possible. You must probably cut the mpeg2 recording before converting.
