  1. So I got my son whole The Penguins of Madagascar series of DVDs and to be able to play on the tablet, I am ripping them. Looks like all DVD are messed up somehow. I am unable to rip them as movies. The movie starts in the middle of actual DVD, the start of the movie is in the middle of this ripped video. In short, all messed up.
When I use DVD decrypter, I see that I am ripping right stream of right length (in terms of minutes) but once the rip is complete, its totally weird.

I wonder how can I fix this thing. I can see the largest VOB stream where the movie is located but how do I rip it successfully as a movie.

I am not using anything fancy, just plain old DVD decrypter and AutoGK.

    Any new tricks are welcome.

    Many thanks in advance.

Use a ripper that is up to date like dvdfab decrypter instead.

Then convert to mp4 with something like handbrake ( or to avi with the old but still good Autogk).

And I'm moving you to our dvd ripping/converting section.

  3. Thanks Baldrick,

I will give a try to DVDFab decrypter.

With mp4 and avi, although mp4 is format of the day, I am still pretty happy with the control AutoGK offers over quality to size ratio. Plus my old Philips DVD player plays XviD but not mp4 (which DS uses a lot), avi files are playable on all tablets.

Any other specific reason, why you recommend to go over mp4 over XviD?
