How good is this blu ray player compared to an LG or the Sony blu ray players? Does this have wi-FI built in?

Yikes. I can't remember the last time anybody asked about or said they bought Yamaha anything around here.
It might be useful to explain what your intentions are, including if you need region free playback of anything. Sony's day has come and gone with their players supporting Cinavia and the company being pretty hostile towards all consumers. Whatever you get, Sony would be the damn last choice for me and you'd have to pay me to get me to take it and put up with their bs like Cinavia.Last edited by jman98; 17th Oct 2012 at 07:00. I really don't want a region free yamaha blu ray player as they are just too expensive plus most titles are now out for the u.s.. I just want a more reliable blu ray player other then LG or a Sony. I heard that the only issue with this unit is it doesn't have Vudu but has Netflix.

I actually talked live with a rep at crutchfield and ABT ad both of them informed me that this is a hot seller right now. So I think that I will be buying it very soon just not yet as I need to wait until next month.

If you are trying to avoid problems with Cinavia, this player probably will not help. All Blu-Ray players must have the ability to perform AACS decryption to play commercial discs, but Blu-Ray players made since February 2012 are required to obey Cinavia as a condition of the AACS license

No I'm trying to avoid it. I spoke to a live person and this player is very hot. As far as cinavia goes I'm not concerned on that issue.

You need to not believe everything sales people tell you. If you don't understand that, there's no hope for you and it doesn't matter what we say. Kind of seems like you're one of those guys we get from time to time who don't really and truly want help. They really just want someone to validate what they already have decided so they can pat themselves on the back and tell themselves that they are a genius because unknown people at Videohelp confirmed what they already knew.
