Ordered 2 from shop.ca, turned out both spindles were made in Taiwan.Should I return it? I also ordered a 50 pack spindle from Futureshop a few days ago and it was Made In Singapore.
I'll mostly be archiving family photos and already backed it up to an external harddrive. I have an Pioneer DVR-218L burner. I know this topic has been beaten to death, but I'm still a little bit confused. Are Made In Taiwan discs really that bad?

AFAIK, if it isn't from their (cheaper) "LIFE" series stuff, it should all have an MKM media code. Check the M.I.D. (manufacturer I.D.) with ImgBurn.
There is one conspicuously different entry in the media list for Verbatim double-layer DVD+R, and the code is: UMEDISC_DL1. This is a "LIFE" series disc. I have no experience with it, but considering the Life series single-layer discs are CMC_MAG, they're probably not so good.
Personally, if it has an MKM code, I'd use it, and not worry so much. Yeah, the made in Singapore discs have the best reputation.
Good luck.Pull! Bang! Darn!
