  1. Hello, I'm newbie here.

    I have a SONY CX500 handycam.

I'm looking for more detailed information on how the "PLAYLIST" files (.mpl or .mpls) can be edited.
These files are created by cameras that product AVCHD folders.
The .mpl playlist files contain the names of the individual clips (scenes) in the STREAM directory, and the camera(s) seem have their own algorithm for deciding when to start a new .mpl file.
After shooting, for example, 200 scenes, then copying the SDHC stick over to the PC you'll find the 200 .mts files in the STREAM directory, but "JUST" 2 or 3 .mpl files in the PLAYLIST directory.

BTW you would see 200 .mpl files corresponding to individual .MTS files(movie clips) when you use MultiAVCHD program in your computer to rebuild AVCHD structure with ONLY individual clips. The thing is in that case, you could not see seamless AVCHD movie. It would be like a multiple clip play with a intermission or delay between clips.

What I'm looking for is either (a) a way to combine playlist(.mpl) files into one or (b) how to make a new playlist(.mpl) files for multiple video clips.

My motivation is to split long AVCHD movie collection into 2~3 to store in DVD-Rs or BD-Rs.
    (such as Disc 1: 1~99 clips(.MTS)
    Disc 2: 100~200 clips(.MTS) )

Thanks in advance for any clues...
