I just created a full HD blu-ray project, in which I imported 1.5 hours of continuous AVCHD footage from my Canon Vixia camcorder. The clips imported just fine as multiple m2ts files and I dragged all of them sequentially onto the timeline. The final result rendered just fine with high quality and is playable on a blu-ray player.

However, at each point between clips there's a a noticeable blip, and it is not continuous as when viewing directly on the camera. I'm hoping someone could please point out if I'm doing something incorrectly or if this is simply the nature of the beast and there's no way around this. I just thought that since the original footage was continuous, I should be able to achieve the same result when editing and burning onto blu-ray.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried anything other than nero?

No, I haven't tried other tools yet. Before putting the effort (and possibly additional money) into it, I would be looking for reassurance that at least one other person has been able achieve seamless video from AVCHD clip to AVCHD clip, regardless of the tool used. That would at least tell me that it could be a Nero issue versus something else entirely.

  4. When you import individual clips, the metadata that tells the programs how to seamlessly join is no longer there

I don't use nero, but the way it's done with NLE's (e.g. vegas pro, premiere pro) is the entire folder structure is imported (which contains the additional metadata) , so the joins are seamless as the program looks at the metadata. But if you import clips individually, you can get glitches as well

I don't use Nero - Not sure if can do this, but try importing the folder structure. If not, try using the software that comes with the camera. It works ok with other NLE's

Thank you very much for the information. This is exactly what I needed to know, and what you're saying makes sense. I believe that when I initially tried importing the folder (as originally imported from the camera), Nero didn't like that.
