  1. Hello. I recently captured some video files from a VHS tape I have. It has stuff on it I recorded off of TV. I have a Dazzle USB device to capture it.

The audio isn't great from the tape and has some bad noise. Not a constant 'hissing' noise or anything, but more of a loud, studdering noise that reacts with the volume of the file. When the dialogue gets louder, the noise gets louder, etc. What is the best way to clean this up??? The noise reducer option in TMPGEnc doesnt work for this. And I have tried to mess around with the audio file in SoundForge, but nothing I have tried gets rid of it efficiently.

Anyone have a good way to eliminate a lot of noise such as this??
    Thanks for you help!

  2. You might want to use a program like Cool Edit Pro. It has several means of noise reduction including an option where you capture a sample of the noise and it scans the entire audio file and removes it.
