    Hello,

When I play my mpg movie on my computer, everything sounds ok.
When I burn them to a VCD and play it on my DVD-player, the audio is out of sync (about 0.3 seconds too early).
Does anybody know why this is?
I've tried Nero & VCDEasy to burn.

Is there a problem with the burning program?
    Is it my writer?
    Is it my DVD player?

    How can I fix it?

    Thanks

  2. Try DEMUX & MUX.

I've tried that, it doesn't seem to help.

Newbie question: I only have to demux it & then mux it again, right?

    tnx

  5. Whitespliff,

Your mpg plays fine on the PC before you burn it - but what about after - is it still OK on the PC but out of sync on the DVD player?

That's what I'm getting. I get a gradual loss of sync that becomes noticeable after an hour or so of the original capture. Made into (X)VCDs, the captures play fine on the two PCs I've tried, but go out of sync on both DVD players I've tried.

I've used TMPGEnc to demux and mux, which helps with cutting accuracy but doesn't stop the sound going out of sync with a DVD player.

Is your loss of sync gradual or a constant "offset"?

I'm capturing with an ATI AIW Radeon and MMC 7.1 using the latest drivers and DirectX 8.1. I.e. all the "recommended" bits and pieces. I have the VCD bit set to "1" using Stinky's reg tool when capturing MPEG-1, whether or not it's at 1.15Mbit/sec. Is this right?

I'm wondering if there's an extra stream along with the video and audio that is leading the DVD player astray - but is ignored by the PC player??? Who knows???

If you crack it, please let us know!!!
