I'll soon be cancelling my cable subscription and now in search of a Freeview HD box that can record onto a built in HDD. This model caught my eye http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00BYUGNCY?psc as it also has Blu-ray and DVD playback. Can this be hacked to play DVD's from any region like lots of other players can, or any similar models that can? Also for archiving recordings, would the best way be to get a model with a Blu-ray recorder built in or are the channels HDCP protected anyway?
