Well Amazon Instant Video is now on the PS3! Wahoo! I don't have to get a streaming bluray player to do it now

I do have my computer hooked up to my hdtv but I find it easier to do video from the ps3 or xbox 360. Its quicker too (at least in terms of boot up time - mines an aging but still useable dual core Vista pc).

I have several purchased videos on my account and I can watch them just fine on my ps3. I wonder why it took them so long to get on the ps3.

Also any idea when they will get on the xbox 360? I guess it doesn't really matter to me since I have both consoles.

Fyi I am not an Amazon Prime customer but I have bought and rented shows and movies on different occasions. It is nice to have this extra option in addition to vudu hd, zune marketplace (on the 360) and the psn store (on the ps3 naturally).

Now if I can just get the Xfinity app to work on my xbox 360 I'd have just about every streaming app you could get for the consoles.

I'm curious but I've never gone to read the manual - can the ruko play files off a usb drive like the wdtv can? What can it support?

Or are all the ruko units streaming only with no usb support?

    Thanks mja.

That looks a bit stripped down compared to the wdtv. Doesn't support avi nor wmv? Thats pretty limiting.

Also is it only h264 and not divx/xvid? That seems odd.

One other thing no ac3? It can't do dvd rips without converting than huh? Not very versatile in that front.

Does it at least support ntfs drives?

I guess it is much more geared to streaming then if only one model supports usb and not very much from that spec list.

    Thanks for the info mja.

    I too have a wdtv (gen 1).

Fyi amazon instant video is now on the xbox 360.

I knew it wouldn't take too long for it to come. I haven't tried it yet but I will soon.
