Also in this article is this perception that since Apple might buy the company that even cooler stuff could come.

I give Apple credit for making stuff that people want. However they are never really the true innovators.

They didn't invent the mp3 player as is the popular misconception. Microsoft had tablet pcs long before the ipad. But granted they were just really jazzed up laptops but the point being portable screens aren't Apples sole domain.

I do give them credit for popularizing such stuff. Its just this idea that only the cool stuff comes from Apple always grates me the wrong way.....

Edit - ok I guess the original mac (the first one they ever built that is) might be considered the first personal computer but its not like they invented the microchip. THey just packaged it diffenently. There is innovation there in the original computer but its not like it was made in a vacuum and suddenly came from a spaceship with no one knowing what the hell it was.....
Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw?

  2. Unless this pane-of-glass TV has the following features, I'll pass:
~ Same Viewing Angle as a CRT or Plasma.
    ~ Anti-Glare.
~ Can't see through it while gaming or watching a movie.
~ Is able to display shades of gray; ie: can see what's going on in Dark Films.
    ~ Doesn't have Ghosting.
~ Doesn't add artificial motion blur.
    ~ Doesn't have input lag.
    ~ Displays real colors.
~ Bright parts of scenes don't overwhelm dark parts of scenes.

I'm doubtful that this TV will be able to do all of the above, as the article mostly just talks about how cool it looks when it is turned off...

Thats an issue for some 3dtvs isn't it? I can't remember if its passive 3dtvs that have a narrower viewing angle or if that was only an issue with the first generation 3dtvs....
