If they do it right this could be great.

One comment by a reader at the end of the article did mention one real concern:

Unfortunately I don't know if it will. Hasn't Microsoft been pushing for html5 for video? But if they want the most amount of people to use ie with the 360 they'd be fools not to.

Also I'd hope it could be scaleable and have the proper zoom settings.

There is a browser on the ps3 but it is pretty cumbersome and limited in terms of comparing it to a regular computer with a browser.

If the 360 could be a full browser with no silly ram limitations or plugin limitations or video limitations (ie flash - no pun intended there I meant the "ie" used in everyday vocabulary not ie as in interent explorer ).

This could be good if its the right dimensions on the screen and the right video capabilities.

The only thing would be will they block all those free web gaming websites? Will it block access to playstation.com or nintendo.com? What about apple.com?

Edit - also what about viruses? How could they keep it a closed system like it kind of is now with the whole LIVE network architecture?

Also would this be any better than the failed WEBTV concept?
