I have my 360 HDDVD drive attatched to my PC. When I installed the drive, it installed itself, and I didnt have to download any special drivers. When I view the device in Device Manager, it says the device is working correctly but shows it as a CD Drive.
I am able to play HD Dvd's using Power DVD but I am not able to look at the files on the DVD in Windows Explorer. I am also unable to play the DVDs using any other media player.
My trial period of Power DVD is running out soon and I would like to test some alternatives.
Anyone any ideas as to why the discs are recognised in PowerDVD but nothing else?

Make sure the drive has been assigned a drive letter. Go to the control panel and select administrative tools, then computer management. Once you are here, select disk management, and slide down and find the drive. Assign it a letter if it does not have one already.

Also make sure you have the right drivers installed, I don't think XP by default installs the correct drivers.
