Not sure how to post this but even though I noticed that mediaInfo does have some problems and many times posts popup re: this software it seems to be the prei mmanent software for examining video structure.

My question is the same as many others.. is there something else that does a better job than MediaInfo?

My concern:

I change all of my DVDs to H264 MKVs and store them on my hard disks. I really like SRTs. My players like them and can move them all around my screen as well as change their size from very small to very large.

Anyway, at least 25-30% of the time MediaInfo does not see all and sometimes none of the subtitles in the files examined.

If I run the files thru DVDShrink it shows vob sub subtitles but not CCs. If I play the ISO or the vobs thru VLC it shows subs as well as CCs. In the cases I'm referring to Media info shows ...NO SUBs. If I run one of these No Sub Vobs thru CCExtractorGUI I end up with useable SRTs. If I run the Vobs thru DVDSubEdit I end up with useable SRTs.

So, anyway what's the story with MediaInfo? Does it need improvement or is there a better more reliable program that will examine my ISOs and Ts folder DVDs and tell me what subtitles are included.

What I'm looking for is a program that will reliably examine my files for subtitles.
