  2. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think you only need to format it if you want to use it in UDF format - i.e. as drag and drop media. You need special software for that (Check out Nero's InCD for it: http://www.nero.com/en/incdinfo.htm). But your standalone DVD player won't recognize that format.

I just write to it like a normal DVD-R, then go under the menu's in Nero (forget which one) and select 'Erase Media' before I want to write on it again.

    Hope this helps.

However, I think that we can record a video file such as dvd mpeg-2 into a dvd-rw which can be played in a stand-alone dvd player? Anybody know please give me advice.

  4. use must author the mpeg2 file before you burn it to a DVD-R or DVD-RW, the RW just gives you the added advantage to check your burns before a final burn on DVD-R. You can use DVD Moviefactory, DVD Workshop, MY DVD, DVD It or a few other DVD authoring programs to author and burn a DVD compliant DVD-R or DVD-RW for playback on home DVD units.

couldn't you save time by using the image recorder in Nero and then using the image drive to test.

  6. you probally could, never tried it, but I generate my own title screen intros and 3d animated intro text ect.. on the PC it displays well but on a TV the borders are not the same ( that's why they have safe zones in authoring programs ), plus it good way to check to see the quality of the playback, funtionality ( chapter stops ect.. ), on more than one unit ( I use 3 units for compatilbity testing.
