  1. Hello

I have VHS tapes that I have from Japan in the PAL/SECAM format. I have also purchased EasyCap VHS to DVD tool. I do not have worldwide VHS player that will let me play the PAL/SECAM tapes. Is there a way of converting those tapes to the NTSC format without having to buy a VHS player?

  7. They use NTSC in Japan. Not PAL/SECAM. Japanese VHS tapes will play in an North American VHS deck.

Yes NTSC-J for analog (black at blanking, no setup)

Like here analog broadcast has ended. The Japan digital standard is ISDB.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISDB

Most of South America has adopted Japan's ISDB for digital broadcast.
