I bought a video califier online yesterday for 29.99. But then I realized that I could've went to my local circuit city and bought the APEX ad1500 dvd player and download the hack to my cd to make it macrovision free. Anyways, I will eventually buy the ad1500 to replace my PS2 when I want to backup DVDs to VHS. I was wondering, is the quality better using the APEX ad1500 hacked dvd player to copy to VHS, or should I stick with the Video Clarifier between the PS2 and VCR???

I would personally get the Clarifier anyway... it will help you if you ever want to do a capture from VHS... just in case.
If all you ever intend to do is DVD caps (why not just dump to hard drive)? , then region free is obviously a better option.
