    Hello. I tried recording my Hi8 clips to my computer and it recorded everything, but didn't record the audio. I am using a Digital8 DCR-340 and put the S Video cable going from my camera to my VC500. The settings I used in recording was NTSC_M and recording in DVD format.

    s-video only carries the video signal. most likely you also need to hook up the red/white lines to the audio in port of your sound card.

    Only problem is, I don't have any cable ports in my sound card. What can I do?
