Hi
I converted a .mkv movie to .mp4. When I play the .mp4 in VLC, the subtitles aren't there as default, but I can load them by going to Video > Subtitles. When I open the mp4 in Vegas, the subtitles aren't there at all. The thing is that the subtitles aren't in a separate file either, the folder where the video is only contains the video itself. So I have no idea how I can get Vegas to read the subtitles.
The whole point here is to be able to edit a mkv in Vegas WITH the subtitles, if anyone has a simple solution I'd love to hear it. I am using XviD4PSP at the moment.
Any help is appreciated.

You can hardcode the subtitles with xvid4psp 5 , https://forum.videohelp.com/threads/298094-How-to-convert-any-video-to-AVI-or-MP4-or-MK...d-in-subtitles

vegas doesn't import subs at all. it can generate them from text you create in vegas but it's not a subtitle workshop. already created subs are normally imported into an authoring program, not a video editor.
