    Hello everyone,

Is there a way to check if a particular cartoon is in the public domain?, sometimes I wish to upload videos to youtube, but all this witch hunt makes me have second thoughts. I am not a US citizen.

    Thanks,

Sometimes studios don't even know if something is still copyrighted --
-- and even they get it wrong when they do think they know.

Records were really quite poor pre-1980s.

Outside the USA, records were poor pre-1990s.

Concepts like "re-runs" are relatively new still.
Even more recent is the 2000s idea at "reimagining" older properties (which thus reinvigorates older ones).

The cartoon in question is from 1946, I bought a restoration made from old 16mm film. I have a small collection of these cartoons from my childhood, some of them found in youtube.

It is a shame we can't share such nice art works.

Something that old is likely public domain.

    Unless its Mickey Mouse.
