Just copy the file to a new folder, rename it and try it.

  3. You can always try changing the extension. Sometimes it works. But you will probably have to remux or convert the video. First try a remux (extract the compressed video and audio streams from the AVI container and put them in an MP4 container) with Yamb or AviDemux.

It depends on the video and audio codec in the avi.

You can try "remux"(no reconversion) the avi to mp4 with for example mymp4boxgui(add avi under mux and output as mp4) or avidemux(open video, under video and audio choose copy, under format mp4, save). Then try play on your mp4 device.

    edit:too slow...

Yes, with winff and with a custom ffmpeg preset can you pretty easy batch remux, see https://forum.videohelp.com/threads/342839-Looking-for-a-batch-stream-converter?p=21358...=1#post2135885 .

But does the mymp4boxgui mp4 work on your device?

  9. it opens

    i pick a movie

    i.e. the mask

    it shows it

    i can push mux

it counts from 0 to 100 down at bottom with load bar

but i dont know where the file goes or if the original has been changed

i tried both just picking and muxing and as so "saving as"

It should end up in same folder as your avi. If it didn't you test something else, avidemux!

And not all avis can be remuxed to mp4.
