Media Center + Multiple TV's + Touchscreen Remote

Hi all.

Im am looking to see if what i have in mind is achievable, and if so, how?

I am looking at having a main server in my home providing all my music, pictures, films etc and also the ability to play live tv. I want to be able to view or hear in any room that has a TV and also i want this to be done with the use of a touchscreen i can carry around with me. Through the touchscreen i also want to be able to have the ability to change the channel of the live tv. I dont want to have to go find my Sky remote aswell as having my touchscreen.

Does anyone have any idea where i can get started with this project?
