  1. When ripping and converting your bluray collection to mkv is it better to convert the HD audio to AC3 640kpbs or just keep the core?

By "better," I mean is one known to provide better sonic/surround quality over the other?

And referring to the conversion I am referencing programs like Ripbot which converts the HD audio to wave then AC3 640kbps (or at least that is my understanding of it).

The only reason to convert hd audio to ac3 is to save space,hd audio will always be better quality than ac3

  3. Correct, but I am wondering in order to save space, between the two choices of either core or HD to AC3 640k, which is the better choice to go with?
