Hi all,
I have a PCTV card and recently installed WDM drivers for this (third party not official). They work fine for Power VCR II, which is what I wanted.
However sometimes I also capture with Virtual Dub.
The problem is that Vdub does not allow you to select the channel from within. The way I used to select the channel to capture was to start the PCTVVision program, select channel, close Vision, and open VDub. The last selected channel would then be available to capture.
If I select a channel from Power VCR, it doesn't remain selected when I open VDub. I also tried a special version of VDub which purports to have a Tuner, but it seems it doesn't support this card for Tuning.
So the upshot is that when I now open VDub, the only channel available is the last one I selected before I installed the WDM driver.
Does anybody know of any software that would allow me to change channel, and then open VDub and capture this different channel?
Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

When you are in the Capture mode of Virtual Dub
got to the Video drop down menu and scroll all the way to the bottom of the menu.
You should see two or more several capture drivers.
i.e.
0 miroMEDIA PCTV Video Capture [or something similar]
1 Microsoft WDM Image Driver
2 You 3rd party WDM driver
Make sure the PCTV Video capture is the one that is selected; in Vdub it looks like a black dot next to the selected item. If that driver is selected then the last channel that was selected from PCTV Vision should be the channel that is displayed in Vdub.
Of course by doing this you negate the use of your 3rd party WDM drivers, but then again you said you only used those drivers for Power VCR. If you want to capture using those 3rd party WDM drivers then..........
Try another TV applications like the ones I listed below, see if they work with those 3rd party WDM drivers and see if they have the same effect as using [PCTV Vision app using miroMEDIA drivers in Virtual Dub]

Can you tell me where you got that Virtual Dub w/tuner? -
Thanks deadpac, much appreciated (yes this me Zippy72 replying, but from home). I'll try all of those at the weekend.
